Tim Russ was born in a military family in Washington DC. He was raised on Air Force bases around the world.
Tim and his younger brother and sister lived in the Orient and the Middle East before his family settled in
Sacramento.
He attended St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas Russ's first professional job was an appearance in
a PBS Masterpiece Theater Production while still in college. He began acting full time 8 years
later in 1985.
Tim's stage experience: Updated version of the Bard's "Romeo and Juliet", NAACP Image Award portrayal
of "Barrabas" in the Los Angeles Theater Center production, "Dream Girls," "As You Like It," "Twelfth
Night," "Macbeth" and "Cave Dwellers."
Tim's tv Experience: Sam Jones' computer-whiz compadre in NBC's "The Highway Man, " the Answering
Machine Guy in the NBC's sitcom "The People Next Door;" recurring part in "Arresting Behavior," the
NBC pilot "Journey To The Centre Of The Earth;" guest star on such shows as "Sea Quest".
He also starred in several Star Trek episodes: Tuvok, ST: Voyager; Tuvok (from a parallel universe) ST:
DS9, T'Kar, a klingon mercenary in several episodes of ST:DS9, a humanoid terrorist in ST:TNG, a
Starfleet tactical officer in Star Trek: Generations.
When not acting, Russ enjoys writing and music. Russ is an accomplished guitarist and vocalist who
has performed in a number of bands and stage productions over the past 20 years.
